The KaiOS optimized app will offer the standard features such as chat, sending images, documents, video etc to users. "The new app offers the best of WhatsApp including fast and reliable messaging and the ability to send photos and videos — all end-to-end encrypted. It's also easy to record and send voice messages with just couple taps on the keypad," said WhatsApp in a blogpost.
WhatsApp is available in JioPhone AppStore starting today. If you are wondering how to go about using WhatsApp in your JioPhone, here's a quick step-by-step guide:

Take your JioPhone and go to Settings

In the Settings tab, go to software updates
3.
Make sure your device is running on the latest KaiOS update
4.
Go back from Settings and open JioApps app
5.
Find WhatsApp in the JioApps Store

Open WhatsApp and you will reach a page with a description of the app. Select the option to Install the app

Once the app is downloaded, you will see an option to "Open" the app on the same page. Another way to open the app is to go back to the app drawer, look for WhatsApp app and select it from there

Once you open the app, you will see the Terms & Policy page. You will have to "Agree" to them in order to move forward

Next up, you will be asked to enter your phone number

Once you enter that, it will verify the number by sending an OTP (One-Time Password)

This will be followed by the app asking your name and an optional profile photo

Now you will be taken to the chats page on the app. This will be empty by defualt, if there is no backup with this number

To start a conversation, tap on "New Chat"
